About WildeyePhoto - Lisa Hoffner

Photographer, Writer and Lecturer

A native of California, Lisa has traveled the world documenting disappearing cultures and wildlife. Her never-ending curiosity about the world and passion for discovery continually tops off her tank of exploration.  Living in sub-Sahara Africa afforded her the opportunity to document the way of life of African tribes and the environmental issues affecting the people and wildlife of the continent.

Lisa runs WildEye Photography, her stock and assignment business that supplies images and stories for the editorial, commercial and non-profit industries.

Lisa is represented by the Danita Delimont Agency in the United States as well as Nature Picture Library in the UK. Her work has been recognized nationally and internationally in various publications such as BBC Wildlife, Natural History, National Geographic and Outside Magazine. She has been a 1st place winner in the Nature’s Best wildlife competition as well as National Wildlife and Kodak KINSA photo contests. Exhibitions include the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in 2003, 2004 and 2008.

She is also a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and a volunteer for the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN).

“My photography is a reflection of the insatiable appetite I have to preserve and convey the beauty of exotic cultures and wildlife through photography. My body of work concentrates on primitive tribes and endangered ecosystems and wildlife around the world. My ultimate goal is to inspire and educate people about the need to preserve these nearly lost treasures.”
